Emily Wood, MD, PhD


Dr. Wood is Clinical Fellow and Researcher in the Division of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry in the UCLA Semel Institute for Neuroscience & Human Behavior. She completed an MD and PhD in Neuroscience at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and her Adult Psychiatry Residency at UCLA-Semel. In her research, Dr. Wood utilizes functional MRI and MRS methods as part of a multimodal approach to better understand resilience to trauma in individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder and a history of early life adversity. Clinically, Dr. Wood specializes in working with children, adolescents and adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder, PTSD, OCD, Depression, and Anxiety Disorders.She sees patients in the Child and Adult Neurodevelopmental (CAN) Clinic at UCLA and adults at Exodus Recovery Center. She employs psychopharmacological and psychotherapeutic treatments and enjoys working with the multidisciplinary team at Community West.
