Dr. Flavio Marenco is a licensed psychologist who specializes in the cognitive-behavioral treatment of OCD, hoarding, and anxiety disorders. Dr. Marenco gained several years of postdoctoral training and experience in the OCD Intensive Treatment Program at UCLA where he trained under IOCDF Scientific & Clinical Advisory Board member Jamie Feusner, MD. His training included the delivery of exposure and response prevention (ERP) and other cognitive-behavioral interventions. While at UCLA Dr. Marenco also received training in mindfulness practice designed to enhance the effectiveness of cognitive-behavioral treatment for anxiety disorders.
After becoming licensed as a psychologist, Dr. Marenco completed a yearlong training program in psychoanalytic psychotherapy at the Institute of Contemporary Psychoanalysis (ICP). This was followed by five additional years of formal psychoanalytic training at the New Center for Psychoanalysis (NCP). It was during these professional experiences that Dr. Marenco learned to blend and integrate multiple theoretical perspectives and clinical approaches to mental health conditions and human suffering.
